How 3H Farms Soap Co. Began

Our journey began with a simple desire for relief from sensitive skin and eczema. Struggling with these issues ourselves, we sought natural remedies that would be gentle yet effective. Coconut oil offered some solace, but it was a bar of goat milk soap that truly captured our attention. Inspired by the memory of my grandmother making soap, I embarked on a quest to create our own.

Research led me to Nubian dairy goats, their milk touted for its gentleness and versatility. After acquiring a pair of sisters, our farm life truly began. With milk in abundance, I set out to craft my first batch of soap, a basic recipe yielding remarkable results. Encouraged by family and friends, we soon found ourselves sharing our creations at farmers’ markets, where they were met with resounding success.

Why We Love Goats Milk Soap.

Goat Milk Soaps are a testament to nature’s gentle touch. Rich in alpha-hydroxy acids like lactic acid, they delicately cleanse and exfoliate the skin, leaving it soft and nourished. Packed with minerals and vitamins such as A, thiamine, potassium, magnesium, selenium, B6, and B3 niacin, goat milk is a boon for those with dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, and sensitive skin. Moreover, it aids in combating acne, sun damage, and signs of aging, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Our cold process soaps are crafted by hand with care, using simple ingredients sourced directly from our farm. Fresh goat milk, along with premium oils, essential oils, and skin-safe fragrances, forms the foundation of our toxin-free soaps. We incorporate natural additives like oats, local honey, clays, charcoal, and mica powders to create products beneficial for all skin types. Unlike commercial soaps laden with harsh chemicals, our approach preserves your skin’s natural barriers, ensuring health and balance.

*This is what the FDA says about labeling: Below is copied from the FDA website just to give you an idea. We can’t make medical claim like, “healing”, “curing”, “antibacterial” ect.

Lotions, soaps, and other cleansers may be regulated as cosmetics or as other product categories, depending on how they are intended to be used.

Cleansing products, many of which are marketed as “soap,” may be cosmetics or drugs regulated by FDA, or consumer products regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, depending on how they are made or how they are intended to be used. For example, soaps and cleansers marketed as “antibacterial” are drugs.

Lotions intended to make people more attractive are cosmetics. But, if they’re intended to affect the structure or function of the body, or for a therapeutic purpose, such as treating or preventing disease, they’re drugs, or sometimes they may be both cosmetics and drugs. For example, sunscreen products are drugs under U.S. law. So are skin protectants, skin bleaches, and treatments for skin conditions such as acne, eczema, or rosacea.

Some lotions are both cosmetics and drugs, and must meet the requirements for both categories. Lotions that are intended both to moisturize the skin and protect users from the sun are just one example.  To learn more about the differences, see “Is It a Cosmetic, a Drug, or Both? (Or Is It Soap?).”

The resources below provide safety and regulatory information about soaps and lotions.

*We can say they help, soothe, nourish , moistures and we can quote the CDC that recommends washing hands with soap and water to be the most effective way to kill germs. Here is the link to the Website that states that. https://www.cdc.gov/handwashing/show-me-the-science-handwashing.html
